Breakfast in bed!

Start your day right with homemade waffles with fresh strawberries. I mean come on! It will turn your frown upside down. I wanted to share my waffle recipe today. Cooking and baking doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it is nice to go back to the basics.

Ingredients

Waffles are life!

Preheat waffle maker. Beat eggs in a large bowl with a hand beater until fluffy. Slowly beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, until smooth.

Spray waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto waffle maker. Cook until golden brown. 

Cut a few strawberries and add to waffles. Lightly dust the waffles and plate with powder sugar!

Waffle Batter

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour choice of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup milk choice of milk
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp white sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup powder sugar optional
  • strawberries optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat waffle maker. Beat eggs in a large bowl with a hand beater until fluffy. Slowly beat in flour, milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, until smooth.
  • Spray waffle maker with non-stick cooking spray. Pour mix onto waffle maker. Cook until golden brown.
  • Cut a few strawberries and add to waffles. Lightly dust the waffles and plate with powder sugar! Ready to enjoy these delicious waffles!
