One Mug: Delicious Harry Potter Butter Beer

A copycat recipe

This Delicious Harry Potter Butter Beer recipe is sure to impress all your muggle and wizard friends!

I am extremely excited to be sharing this Harry Potter Butter Beer Recipe with you guys. It’s super simple and it will definitely take your Harry Potter Marathon watching time the next level.⠀⠀

When I first asked on Instagram if my followers wanted to see me recreate the famous Butter Beer that is seen in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I was shocked by all the “yes’s” I got.

Partially because when I was growing up, Harry Potter was not that popular around my peers.

As I was making this recipe and writing it on my blog it brought up some good and bad emotions. ⠀

Harry Potter was one of the first big girl books I ever read.

I remember my dad buying the first book. I was intrigued by the book cover that had a young boy on a broomstick with a scar on his forehead.

So one night I snuck it into my room and began to read it. I fell in LOVE with this book. It took to a whole different world. At this time in my life, reading was an escape for me. Partially because I was bullied most of my grade school and high school career. The other part was just I loved to read.

In 5th grade I dressed up as Hermione Granger for Halloween. I loved what a strong, powerful character she was. I told my dad I wanted to be her! My dad found a second hand robe at Goodwill. He even made me a wand from one of our tree branches. It was the most legit thing in the world.

I was so excited to take my homemade costume to school…..when I got to school the kids weren’t as excited. I was picked on. To the point where I didn’t want to be at school. ⠀

I remember coming home and my dad telling me. “Mija, all the kids in Harry Potter are different. That’s what makes them so special. They use their uniqueness to make a change in the world. Together, one ever so different. They are powerful together. People fear different people because different people aren’t afraid to be themselves.” ⠀

I wish I had listened to him then. But instead I put away my favorite books for a long time. In fear of being different. ⠀

But as I look back at that conversation with my dad. This whole time it has been a subconscious thought that I am making into my own reality. ⠀

Is it scary being different, sometimes. Is it scary going after what I want, sometimes. But I wouldn’t want to be any other person then I am now.⠀

Dorky, silly, geeky, corky, crazy. ⠀

But those are just labels. I am different and that is OKAY. I have the characters of Harry Potter who helped me realize that in some of my darkest times. And my dad.

This recipe is dedicated to all my people out there that are different. That are struggling to find a place in this world. Who use books as an escape. This to all my “nerds” out there.
