How To Make The Perfect Creamy Mac & Cheese

This easy to make Mac and Cheese is simple, creamy and full of flavor. This isn’t just your normal Mac and Cheese, you’ll get a slight Italian flavor taste with a super creamy cheese sauce! It is sure to hit the spot on those not so great days. Want to add a little more joy to your day, match a batch of this Mac and Cheese. Make it with your favorite pasta! Macaroni, penne…any!! All pastas are yummy pastas.

It is no surprise that it seems almost impossible to find the things we need. When we were grocery shopping the other day, there was little to no pasta in any store. We decided to make this Mac and Cheese with penne! It worked out beautifully.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F degrees.

Cook pasta according to package directions in a medium pot.

Drain, rinse and return into a cast iron pan or any oven safe pan. Tip: Add a little butter so the noodles don’t stick together. Then set asaide. 

In a sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Optional: Add one tablespoon of flour if you prefer a thick sauce.

Add milk and broth slowly, stirring after each addition.

 Add cream cheese and stir until completely melted. 

Season with Italian salt, pepper and onion powder. 

Whisk cheese in, allow time to melt. Remove from heat. 

Pour in cheese sauce over the pasta, stirring gently to combine.

 Add additional shredded chedder cheese on top of pasta. 

Finally mix together panko and Italian seasoning. Then sprinkle on top of pasta. 

Bake in the oven at 350F degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Life is a little cheesy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 lb macaroni or penne

Cheese

  • 4 oz cream cheese Green Valley – Lactose Free (or any cream cheese)
  • 3 tbsp butter Earth Balance (or any butter)
  • 1 cup whole milk Lactiad (or any milk)
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock or vegetable stock
  • 1/2 tsp italian salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 9 oz sharp chedder cheese

Crumble

  • 1/4 cup panko
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
