The past two weeks we have been going through our kitchen cabinets. It is crazy to see how many food products are starting to pill up.
We spend so much money on food…….but forget to use it.
Which is such a waste! So we are trying to be better about actually using all the food that we buy. (that way we aren’t throwing money away, literally)
We have a few cans of garbanzo beans hanging around. What better way to use them as HUMMUS!
Making The Hummus
In a blander add the following,
Garbanzo beans, lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, a handful of roasted red bell peppers (click here to find in store) and all spices.
Set blander to medium speed for about two minutes.
Mixture will be a nice and creamy texture.
Scoop hummus onto a plate or glass container.
The best past of hummus in my opinion….the DRIZZLINGS!!
In a small bowl add 4 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt & pepper, mix together. Using about a handful of roasted bell peppers, cut them to smaller pieces. Add to oil mixture. One last stir.
Then place on top of hummus! Sprinkle some crushed pistachios for texture.
Hummus is ready to be enjoyed!
I am going to grab some peta chips and dip into this hummus!
