This delicious, hearty Chili Cornbread Skillet will soon become a new favorite comfort food. It is super easy to make and perfet for the whole family to enjoy on chilly nights

  2. Preheat the oven to 425F. In a large bowl, stir together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. In a medium sized bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and oil. The pour milk mixture into the bowl with the cornmeal. Stir together.

  4. In a large oven safe skillet add 5-6 cups of chili to where the skillet is a little over half way full. Then carefully pour the cornbread batter over the chili. If needed spread it around until It is even on to top.

  5. This part is optional, add slices of jalapeños on top of the cornbread batter and fresh herbs like oregano and rosemary!

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the surface of the cornbread is golden brown.

  7. Enjoy with sour cream, cheese, fresh herbs and more jalapeños for a spicy flare!

The Best Chili Recipe does not have to be made in an instant pot. Follow the same step in a large pot. Place a large pot over medium high heat. Sauté onions, and garlic. Then toss in the meat. Allow the meat to brown. Then add spices, followed by the tomato sauce and diced tomatoes. Mix in cacao powder and sugar. Lastly toss in all the beans. Allow the pot to come to a simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Serve warm with your favorite toppings!
