Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, over medium heat. Heat olive oil. When oil is hot, add garlic.

  2. When garlic begins to sizzle (don’t let it brown), add diced tomatoes. Then add water and give everything a good stur.

  3. Add red pepper flakes, salt, oregano, and Italian seasoning. Stir.

  4. Add basil (including basil stem) on top of the tomatoes. Allow the basil to wilt and then submerge it into the sauce.

  5. Simmer sauce until thickened and oil on the surface turns into a deep orange like color. This process can take anywhere between 15-25 minutes.

  6. Optional. Discard basil. We love keeping the basil in the sauce!

  7. Enjoy!
