Biscuits & Sausage Gravy Sandwich

Biscuits & Sausage Gravy Sandwich

Breakfast for dinner! Uhm YES. My boyfriend has been requesting biscuits and gravy for the past few weeks. So I finally decided to make them! With a small twist, as a sandwich!

Let’s Get Messy

Preheat oven to 400 Degrees F.

In a large bowl add 2 cups of flour.

Add baking powder and baking soda. Mix together with a wooden spoon.

Cut butter into small cubes. Then, add into flour mixture.

I don’t have a fancy tool to cut butter in flour.

So I used one of my kitchen aid whisks. If you have a pastry dough blender, use it! If not make due with what you have!

Keep cutting the flour and butter until it starts to get flaky.

Hand beat one of the eggs.

Mix the beaten egg with a wooden spoon into your flaky dough.

Add your choice of milk.

Mix your dough, until it starts getting sticky. It will look messy. And that’s PERFECT!

Cover your dough. Let it sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

You can also leave it over night, and use it for breakfast!

After your dough has chilled. Cut a piece of parchment paper. Sprinkle some flour on it.

Lay your dough on it.

Begin to press your dough down with your finger tips. Until it is about 10 inches long.

You want to make sure that your dough is not completely flat. Aim to have about 1/2 inch thickness. Or more.

Cut 8-10 circles into dough. I used one of my circular cups that I have. Be resourceful with what you have.

Transfer your biscuits to a pan. You can pre spray it if you’d like.

Beat your second egg in a small bowl.

Brush your beaten eggs on top of the biscuits!

Then put them in the oven for 15-20 minutes.

Biscuits should be golden brown on the top.

Let biscuits sit for a few minutes for cool down.

Groovy Gravy

In a sauce pan at medium heat, add your sausage. Fully cook sausage.

Using a wooden spoon, mix in milk. Add flour slowly.

Amateur Tip: DON’T ADD ALL THE FLOUR AT ONCE. Trust me. You could end up with some really think gravy. Unless if that’s how you like it.

The flour will help thicken the milk. Once it is to your liking. Add all the spices.

With your left over sausage, make a few patties.

Stack that Sandwich

You are almost ready to enjoy this delicious recipe!

Add your sausage to the middle of two biscuits. Add a slice of your favorite cheese. Even a nice over easy egg!

Pour Over

Who doesn’t love a pour over?

Add as much gravy as you would like! Enjoy this delicious breakfast for dinner. Or for a traditional breakfast.
