Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
Cook pasta according to package directions in a medium pot.
Drain, rinse and return into a cast iron pan or any oven safe pan. Add a little butter so the noodles don't stick together. Then set asaide.
In a sauce pan, melt butter over medium heat. Optional: Add one tablespoon of flour if you prefer a thick sauce.
Add milk and broth slowly, stirring after each addition.
Add cream cheese and stir until completely melted.
Season with Italian salt, pepper and onion powder.
Whisk cheese in, allow time to melt.
Remove from heat.
Pour in cheese sauce over the pasta, stirring gently to combine.
Add additional shredded chedder cheese on top of pasta.
Finally mix together panko and Italian seasoning. Then sprinkle on top of pasta.
Bake in the oven at 350F degrees for 20-25 minutes.
