The Perfect Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

This 6 ingredient recipe is easy to make and pairs deliciously with cupcakes, cakes, cookies and many other desserts! Lightly frost 24 cupcakes or add a generous amount to 12 cupcakes....just depends on your mood!!

  • Stand Mixer or Hand Mixer


  • 1/2 cup vegan butter Earth Balance
  • 8 oz lactose free cream cheese Green Valley Creamery
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 3-4 tsp lemon zest
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar


  • Combine butter and cream cheese in a bowl and mix together. Beat until its creamy and lump free.
  • Add vanilla extract and salt
  • Mix in lemon zest.
  • Have your mixer on slow. Gradually add powdered sugar until throughly mixed in with creamy cheese. It will be very creamy.
  • Use to frost completely cooled off cupcakes, cakes and cookies!
  • Enjoy.
